CHAPTER - 14

Rohit and his family were introduced with all of Natasha’s families and relatives.In Natasha’s generation,Shefali was the youngest daughter of the royal family and so everyone pampered her like a kid though she was 16 years of age and sometimes she liked the attention and sometimes she didn’t.Shefali’s father had chain of Indian restaurants in Warsaw,which was now at present looked after by her father and brother.After coming to India,in her ancestral palace,she was getting bored as she had to wear these traditional heavy dresses with heavy jewelleries and moreover she had some serious boyfriend issues due to which she was even more pissed off.She was all the time,busy with her mobile chatting with her boyfriend as her family was busy with the guests and no one was looking over her.Shefali was totally lost in her mobile when Natasha introduced Akash and Rohit to Shefali.She immediately put off her chatting app and that sudden change in her expressions didn’t get unnoticed by Akash’s cp eyes.Rohit shook hands with her and said,”Hi Shefali!!”Shefali nodded her head and gave a forcible smile and then Akash held her hand and then kissed on it and said,”Hullo beautiful young lady!!”Shefali was quite impressed by Akash’s greeting style and she said,”Aapke greet karne ka style hume bohot achcha laga,school mein saare larke hume aise hi greet karte hai.Thank you!!”Akash smiled and said,”Lagta hai aap school mein kaafi popular hai.Vaise hum har larki se itni hi izzat se pesh aate hai aur agar vo aap jitni khubsurat ho aur royal ho to kya kehne.Vaise agar main galat nehi hu to mujhe lagta hai aap is party mein bore ho rahi hai.”Shefali made a face and said,”Ya right!!Ye party sach mein bohot boreing hai aur upar se ye dress aur jewelleries,they are more annoying.”Ananya,who was coming towards them,heard her last words and said,”Shefu tum raajkunwari ho aur ek rajkunwari ke muh se aisi baate shobha nehi deti hai.Hamaare ghar mein shaadi hai,aur dulhe waalo ka swaagat karna aur achche se unki khaatirdaari karna hamaara farz hai.Aap aise bartaav karengi to vo log kya sochenge hamaare baare mein?”Akash got fed up of Ananya’s typical royal traditional attitude towards everything and so he asked Shefali,”Princess if you don’t mind whats your age?”Shefali replied,”Its 16!!”Akash said to Ananya,”Yuvraaniji aap ek 16 saal ki bachchi se baat kar rahi hai.Aapka outlook apni life ke taraf apni umar se dugne insaan jaisa hai,aap to jawaani mein hi buddhi ho rahi hai,kamsekam inhe baksh dijiye.Ye bichaari to thik thak apni jawaani tak bhi nehi pohchi hai.Aisi parties na sach mein bohot hi boreing hoti hai,vo to ye mere dost ki shaadi hai varna aisi boreing parties mein main jaata bhi nehi hu.”Ananya said,”Maine aapko invite nehi kiya hai,aap agar chahe to abhi aap ja sakte hai.”Akash covered his mouth and replied,”Haww!!Aap kitni party badlu hai,abhi aap apni behen ko lecture de rahi thi ke dulhe waalo ka dhyaan rakhna aapka farz hai and all that and now aap mere saath aise bartaav kar rahi hai,main bhi to larke waalo ke taraf se hi hu.”Akash put his hand on Rohit’s shoulder and said,”Yaar teri ye saali hai na.Huh!!Hai kuch aur aur dikhaati kuch aur hai.”Shefali liked his attitude and so she said to Ananya,”Seriously di!!Aap London mein rahi ho,independent ho aur khud ka business sambhaalti ho phir bhi aap typical Indian illiterate women ke tarah baat karti hai.Aap na dinbadin aur boreing hoti ja rahi ho.Aap yuvraani banne waali ho thik hai,thats absolutely fine but itni abnormality kyu hai di?Just look at Natasha di,she doesn’t behave like you.”Ananya was very angry with Shefali’s words and so she said to Akash,”Aap jabse yaha aaye hai na tabse aapne sabko mere khilaaf kar rakkha hai.Mera na kabhi kabhi dil karta hai ke aapko is mahal se hi nehi balki Vijaygarh se hi nikaal bahaar feku.Par aapki kismat achchi hai ke aap larke waalo ke taraf se hai aur isi vajah se mere haath bandhe huye hai.”Akash gave a fake smile to Ananya to make her more angry and she left from there angrily.Shefali looked at Akash and then said,”Lagta hai aapne hamaari di ko bara hi harka kar rakkha hua hai.”Natasha replied,”Ananya inse itna chirti hai na ke kya bataau.Inko dekhte hi uska gussa 7 ve aasmaan par chad jaata hai.”Shefali said,”Tab to aap hamaari di ke liye ekdam perfect groom saabit honge.Hum aur Natasha di hamesha yehi kehte hai ke Ananya di ko aisa hi husband milna chahiye jo unke gusse ko sambhaal paaye aur unse dabe bhi na and you did that perfectly.”Akash said,”Main to kabka tayyar hu par aapko behen to mere taraf ghum kar pyar se dekhti bhi nehi hai.”Rohit assured him and said,”Don’t worry meri shaadi ho jaane de phir main teri setting kara dunga.”Akash thanked him for his help.

                                                                                          Parvati was attending the guests alongwith the lady servants with refreshments.Just then Ratan Singh Chauhan,Ananya’s paternal aunt Kalyani’s husband suddenly grabbed her hand from one corner and then covered her mouth and pulled her away from the main hall.Parvati was so much startled with this that she didn’t even get the time to react and then Ratan Singh took her to a remote corner and then pinned her to the wall.Parvati immediately recognised him to be Kalyani’s husband and she knew what kind of typical characterless man he was but still she was shocked at his behaviour and asked,”Jawai sa ye aap ke kar rahe hai?”Ratan Singh was looking at Parvati with lust in his eyes and asked,”Kyu kuch galat to nehi kar rahe hai na?”Parvati pushed him and said,”Jawai sa choriye manne!!Aap rajgharaane ke daamaad ho,aap ko je saare kaam shobha na deve hai.Aaj manjli raajkunwari ke honewaale saasre ke log aaye huye hai aur agar Ranaji ko pata chal gaya to shaayad is baar vo apni behen ka lihaaz bhi na karenge.”Ratan Singh laughed like a devil and said,”Tumhaare Ranaji hamaara kuch nehi bigaad sakte hai kyuki hum unki ek lauti behen ke pati hai aur har bhaai ko apni behen ka ghar apni jaan se bhi zyaada pyaara hota hai.”Parvati was about to go but Ratan Singh grabbed her hand and said,”Kaha ja rahi ho?Aisa kya hai us Ranaji mein jo hum mein nehi hai?Hum bhi rajwaar hai aur vaise bhi tumhe kya lagta hai ke tumhaare aur Ranaji ke beech mein kaunsa naajaayaz rishta hai vo hume nehi pata hai?Bina shaadi kiye tum unke saath reh sakti ho to hamaare saath rishta banaane mein kya taklif hai?”Parvati was unable to fight with Ratan Singh’s strength and so,in order to save her pride,she took out her dagger,which she always kept with her for safety and put it in front of his throat.Ratan Sigh was startled with this table turning situation and Parvati said,”Manne kamzor samajhne ki kosis mat karna jawai sa.Apni jaan aur izzat bachaane ke tareeke maare ko bhi aave hai.Ranaji maare liye devta hai,unhone maari jaan bachaayi,maare bete ko achchi parvaris di aur unki beti Ananya,apne kaalje se laga kar paala hai maine usey,maari beti hai vo,apna dudh peelaaya hai maine usko.Maine aur Ranaji dono ne ek dusro ke bachcho ko kabhi khud ki aulaado se alag na samjha hai.Ye rista hai maara Ranaji se.Samajh gaye aap!!”Parvati had just turned to leave but Ratan Singh again got hold of her and overpowered her and she somehow managed to get herself out of his clutches and ran to save herself.On the way towards the main hall,while running,she almost was about to fall over Vinay,who was coming from the opposite direction.Vinay got hold of her and asked,”Parvati aise bhaagi hui kaha se aa rahi ho?”Parvati wiped her forehead and put a forced smile on her lips and replied,”Ji vo...vo...kahi nehi,vo thori udhar gayi thi.”On seeing her condition,Vinay understood that something might have happened with her and so when he was about to ask her,his eyes fall on Ranjit Singh behind and he immediately understood the story when he tossed his eyes to each of them one by one.Vinay walked towards Ranjit and then joined his hands and said,”Khammaghani bare jawaisa!!”Ranjit raised his hands and in a proud manner said,”Ha ha thik hai thik hai!!”Saying he was about to leave when Vinay put his hand on Ranjit’s shoulder from his back and said,”Jawai sa aapko pata hai is mahal ke peeche ek Ghana jungle hai jisey hum mahaakal ka jungle kehte hai.Waha par agar kisiko maar kar hum laash bhi dafna de na to jungle ke jaanwaro ko bhi pata nehi chalega.”Ranjit’s heart skipped a bit and he turned towards Vinay,but still making the proud and arrogant expressions,asked,”Kya matlab?”Vinay came a bit close to him and then said,”Matlab ye hai ke aapke peeche jo aurat khari hai,vo bhale hi raajparivaar ki koi na lagti ho lekin ye hone waali yuvraani ki ma hai aur unki izzat ke saath khelne waale ko gunehgaar maana jaata hai aur Vijaygarh mein sirf mahal ka kanoon chalta hai.Isiliye zara apne haath per sambhaalkar rakkhiye,kyuki Kalyani ji ko sambhaalne ke liye yaha bohot saare log hai aur agar zarurat pari hum unhe hamesha hamesha ke liye waapas lekar aa sakte hai lekin agar aapko kuch ho gaya to aapko puchne waala to choriye,dhundhne waala bhi koi nehi hoga.”Vinay smiled and then said to Ranjit,”Meri baat ko zara soch kar dekhiyega bare jawai sa!”He cleaned Ranjit’s collar and then left from there with Parvati.

                                                                                            While walking back to the hall,Parvati said to Vinay,”Aap mare se waada karo ke aap Ranaji ya bitiya ko is baare mein kuch bhi nehi bataaoge.Vo Kalyani baisa ke pati hai.Main na chahu hu ke mare vajah se unko beizzati ka saamna karna pare.”Vinay smiled and said,”Agar tum mujhe kuch na bhi kehti to bhi main kuch nehi bataane waala tha.Kalyani ko main bhi apni choti behen manta hu,uski izzat ki parvaah mujhe bhi hain.”Suddenly Vinay’s eyes fall Parvati and he looked at her cloth and found it torned down from several parts due to that fighting with Ranjit and so he said,”Parvati mujhe lagta hai ke tumhe apne kapre badal lene chahiye varna agar sabne dekh liya to hungama hoga.”Parvati looked at her clothes and then covered herself and said,”Main abhi aati hu.”Saying she went back to her room.After changing her saree,when Parvati was coming out,she found Vinay standing at a distance in the balcony,opposite of her room facing towards the forest.Parvati asked,”Vinay bhaiji aap athe?”Vinay was startled at her voice and he turned towards her and said,”Oh...tum...ha vo maine dekha ke Ranjit is taraf aa raha tha,mujhe thora shaq hua to main yaha aa gaya.”Parvati too stood at a bit distance from him and looked towards the forest.She said,”Saalo pehle jab bitiya aur Vijay dudh peete bachche the,tab maine suna...matlab Ranaji ne mare se kaha ke aap mare se...”She looked at him and then lowered her eyes and continued,”Aap maare se shaadi karna chahte the.Ye baat sach thi?”Vinay looked into the forest and seemed to be lost in that and his chain of thoughts broke.He looked at her for a few seconds and then again looked towards the forest.He said,”Tumhe pata hai Parvati,tumhaari aur meri zindagi bilkul ek jaisi hai bas fark itna hai ke maine saari umar apni zindagi ki us ek galti ki sazaa bhugti hai aur tumne bina galti kiye.Main apni galti ka praayashchit karna chahta tha isiliye main tumse shaadi karke Vijay ko apna naam dena chahta tha lekin...”He gave a sigh and then replied,”Par lagta hai bhagwaan ne mere liye isse bhi bari sazaa tey ki hui thi.”Parvati said,”Bhaiji,aap bhi maari jindagi ke baare mein sab jaano ho aur main bhi thaari jindagi ke baare mein sab jaanu hu.Aapne jo kiya vo bhale hi duniya aur samaaj ke najro mein galat tha par usme aapki koi galti na thi.Aap bhi insaan hi ho aur hamaari jindagi ka raaj aajtak humne apne apne dilo mein dafan karke rakkha hua hai aur aagey bhi rakkhenge.Agar je sach bahaar aa gaya to sabki jindagi mein bohot bara toofan aayega aur je toofan khud mahakaal bhi na rok sakey hai.”Vinay,in a tensed expression asked,”Par kya is baar hum ye sach chupa paayenge?”Parvati was shocked when Vinay said about that and so she asked,”Kyu bhaiji aapko aisa kaai laage hai?”Vinay replied,”Kyuki jo khatra ab mahal par mandra raha hai usse to lagta hai ke is baar ye daraavna sach bahaar aakar hi rahega.Shaayad is baar na chupa sakenge hum...shaayad is baar nehi.”Both Vinay and Parvati were quiet and were looking towards the forest and didn’t even notice from where the time passed by when his eyes fall on his wrist watch and he looked at the time.Vinay almost screamed on seeing the time and said to Parvati,”Parvati 9.30 baj gaye hai,abhi to Pari ke khaane ka time hai na?Vo tumhaare serve kiye bina khaati hi nehi hai.Abhi tumhe dhundhne nikal paregi.Chalo chalte hai.”The moment,when they turned,they found Ananya standing there and on seeing her,they both were shocked.At first,on seeing her expressions,both Vinay and Parvati thought that she might have heard something but when Ananya opened her mouth,they both were relieved.Ananya said,”Ma hum aapko kabse dhundh rahe hai,aapko pata hai na abhi hamaare khaane ka waqt ho gaya hai aur hum aapke alava kisi aur ka parosa hua khaana nehi khaate hai.”Vinay said to Ananya,”Main teri ma ko yehi bata raha tha pari,vo abhi aa hi rahi thi.”Parvati smiled and said,”Ha ha bitiya main abhi aa hi rahi thi.Chal!!”Ananya was about to leave but then she remembered something and stopped and said to Vinay,”Uncle aapka vo jo dost ka beta hai na,vo hume hamesha chiraata rehta hai aur usko dekh kar sab hume chiraate hai.Kehte hai ke hum boreing bante ja rahe hai.Aap usko daat dena.”Vinay nodded his head and then said,”Thik hai main daat dunga abhi tu ja jaakar khaana kha le varna tu medicines kaise legi beta?Ja!!”Ananya nodded her head like a good girl and then left from there with Parvati.

                                                                                              After the party was over,all the kids,well exactly not kids,but Akash,Ananya,Rohit,Natasha and Shefali joined on the roof.They were wall taling and of course,were having a gala time with each other and last but not the least,Akash didn’t leave any chance to taunt and to flirt with Ananya.Amidst of everything,Rohit suddenly asked Ananya,”Ananya maine notice kiya hai ke aap Parvati aunty ko ma bulaati hai aur mujhe pata bhi hai ke unhone aapko paala hai,par maine Natasha se suna hai ke unki ek history bhi hai.If you don’t mind main janna chahunga,I mean main aur Natasha,hum dono janna chahenge ke vo aap sabko kaise mili hai.”Ananya remembered about the day when her father first told her about Parvati otherwise,she everytime knew that Parvati was her own mother.Ananya smiled and replied,”Jabse humne hosh sambhaala hai na,humne unhiko apni maasa maana tha.Par ek din papa ne hume bataya ke hamaari maasa hamaare janam ke ek mahine baad hi mar gayi.Jab hum bare huye,sab kuch samajhne ke laayak bane tab papa ne hume bataya ke army mein rehte waqt,jaha par papa ki posting thi,vo Rajasthan ke kisi jungle mein thi aur us jungle mein daakuo ka bara keher hua karta tha ar usnhiko rokne ke liye.Usi jungle ke paas ek chota sa gaao tha,wahi ma aur kuch rajasthani kisaan apne parivaar ke saath rehte the.Ek din ma ki shaadi pakki huyi dusre gaao mein aur usdin ma ki shaadi ho rahi thi ke achaanak...achaanak us shaadi mein daakuo ne hamla kar diya aur vo log hamaari ma ko utha kar le gaye,sabne bohot minaate ki lekin un daakuo ne ek bhi nehi suni.Us dauraan papa chuttiyo mein ghar aaye huye the.Unke waapas jaane ke baad jab unko is baare mein pata chala tab unhone zoro shoro se unke team ke saath un daakuo ko aur ma dhundhne nikal pare.Ek mahine baad,unko un daakuo ke thikaane ka pata chala aur unhone waha jaate hi unpar hamla bol diya.Papa aur unke saathiyo ne milkar un saare daakuo ko maar giraaya aur waha se ma ko sahi salaamat unke ghar waapas le aaye.Par tabtak bohot der ho chuki thi,ma ki shaadi toot jaane aur unke daakuo ke haatho agvaa ho jaane ke sadme se unke pita ki jaan ja chuki thi aur jinke saath unki shaadi hone waali thi unhone bhi ma ko apnaane se mana kar diya.Uske baad papa unhe apne saath camp lekar gaye aur wahi kuch dino baad unhe ye pata chala ke vo do mahine pregnant hai,jiska matlab tha ke jab vo daakuo ke kabze mein thi tab zarur unke saath kuch na kuch hua hoga.Phir papa ne unhe apne saath ghar le aane ka faisla kar liya kyuki ma ka to aur koi tha bhi nehi.Unhone hamaari maasa ka bohot dhyaan rakkha aur unke marne ke baad to vohi meri ma ban gayi.Humne to yahatak bhi suna tha ke Vinay uncle ma ko sahaara dene ke liye unse shaadi bhi karne waale the par papa nehi maane,vo nehi chahte the ke is shaadi ke vajah se Vinay uncle aur unke khaandaan ke naam par koi dhabba lage ya unki izzat khatre mein pare.Phir...ma ke saath jo hua usme unki to koi galti nehi thi jiske vajah se unhe sharminda hona pare.Par India mein school mein parne ke liye baap ka naam chahiye hota hai,isiliye papa ne legally Vijay bhaisaa ko adopt kar liya aur unke legal guardian ban gaye.”Natasha was deeply touched by Parvati’s history and Shefali was so emotional that she started weeping on hearing her story and said,”How rude those people are!!Ab unhe daaku utha kar le gaye the to isme unki kya galti thi?”She wiped her tears and then continued,”Vaise achcha hua jo kuch bhi hua,they didn’t deserve her aur isiliye tabhi to vo Ananya di ko mil gayi.Vaise bare taayasa ne bhi bohot achcha kiya jo bhaisaa ko adopt kar liya.”Ananya agreed and replied,”Exactly!!Phir maasa ki to shakal bhi humne nehi dekhi thi,unhe sirf photo mein dekha,isliye maasa ke liye vo attachment humne kabhi bhi feel hi nehi kiya.Hamaare liye yehi hamaari ma thi,hai aur hamesha rahengi.”Akash asked,”Kya Vijay ko apne paida hone ke is sachchai ke baare mein kuch pata hai?”Ananya replied,”Ha pata hai aur zaahir si baat hai ke unke liye is baat ko manna asaan nehi tha.Par ab itne saalo mein sab kuch thik ho gaya hai.”Just then Vijay arrived searching for them and on getting everyone there,he said,”Arey yuvraaniji aap yaha bethi hai aur waha ma aapko dhundh rahi hai,aapke dawaai ka waqt ka waqt ho gaya hai.”Shefali came to Vijay and said,”Aapki umar bohot lambi hai bhaisaa hum abhi aaphike baare mein baat kar rahe the.Humne suna ke aap bohot achcha barbeque banaate hai to phir aapko na hume khilaana hi parega.”Natasha said to Vijay,”Vaise bhaisa hum na ek aur baat bhi soch rahe the,ke ab jab hum yaha aa hi gaye hai  to phir yaha aapki na shaadi hi karwa dete hai.”Vijay’s cheeks turned red and he immediately hid his expressions and replied,”Vaise main to tayyar hu par meri to bas ek hi khwahish ke main ghori tab hi charu jab main yuvraaniji ki doli ko kandha dedu,aakhir vo mujhe bhaisa bulaati hai to apni behen ki shaadi karwaaye bina main shaadi kaise kar sakta hu?Ye to mera haq hai.”Everyone looked at her and Akash jumped in front of her and said,”Ek baar ha bolo do din mein Delhi se yaha baraat aa jaayegi.You know Iam ever ready.”Everyone except Ananya laughed out loud and she angrily said,”That was a poor joke!!”Akash shamelessly replied,”I wasn’t joking aur main has bhi nehi raha hu.”Ananya made a face to him and she said to everyone,”Chalo guys let’s go!!Raat ho chuki hai abhi hum nehi jaayenge to ma chillayegi.”Everyone agreed and wished each other good night and left towards their respective rooms.

                                                                                           It was almost midnight when the environment outside the palace was filled with the sounds of crickets and the blowing air.Even the light blowing air was having sound like cyclone and there was a pin drop silent all over the palace.Shefali was not accustomed to such environment and so she was not getting sleep and was really suffocated.At last she got out of her bed and then stood at the balcony.She looked around everywhere and realized why everyone was so scared of this place as she too was having spine chills and then she said to herself,”Uff kitni daraavni jagah hai,its so natural that people are so scared of this place.But the ghost matter...I don’t believe that,ye saari dakiyaanusi baate hi hongi.Bhut,aatmaayein,ghosts ye sab kuch asli mein hota thore hi hai.”She decided to return to her room when she heard a scream,a sky piercing scream,which literally shivered her soul.She immediately went out of her room and followed the scream and she forgot to call others to help her out.She carefully looked everywhere and then slowly with cautious step started walking.She remembered about calling others after she came downstairs and was surprised thinking how anyone could not hear the scream since it was too loud but she didn’t know that it was all because of the black magic,a sleeping spell which Neelakshi had covered everyone like a blanket and Shefali was awake just because Neelakshi wanted her so that she could again sew the seeds of terror in the minds of the locals and the royal family.Shefali was extremely scared to go alone but again thought it would be wasting of time to go again and call others and so she started walking towards the main door.She slowly opened the door and again heard that scream and that time the frequency was too high and she felt as if thousands of pins have poked her heart.If she would have been a poor hearted person,she immediately would have suffered a cardiac arrest.Her whole body was shivering with fear but she still gathered courage and went outside and slowly walking she reached on the backyard and what opened up in front of her eyes,she was scared with no limits.It was a lady in a white dress who was stabbing one of the guards with a royal dagger.The dagger was filled with blood and she even wiped her face and and her dress with the blood of the man and seeing that horrifying scene,Shefali stood there like a statue.The lady in white turned got up and turned back to face Shefali and smiled like a devil with her red eyes and blowing air.In front of Shefali,the lady vanished and then Shefali came back to her senses and screamed aloud and ran inside the palace.She screamed and screamed aloud and everyone woke up.All came hearing her voice and gathered around her but Shefali was terrified that she was unable to speak for some time and her mother gave a her a glass of water.After that she somehow managed to speak of what she had seen and all the family members ran in the backyard and found the brutally murdered body of the guard surrounded by all other guards.Ranaji asked the guards,”Ghar mein itna bara haadsa ho gaya tum log kya kar rahe the?”The chief security officer replied,”Ranaji hum bohot hi responsibility ke saath apna kaam kar rahe the par pata nehi kyu sabki ek saath hi aakh lag gayi.Mujhe jab hosh aaya to main zameen par para hua tha.”Shefali replied,”Bare tayaji aap sab bhi to so rahe the bas main hi jagi hui thi,aap sabko bhi kya us aadmi ke cheekhne ki awaaz nehi aayi?”Parvati said,”Na mare ko to koi awaaj na aayi thi.”Ranaji and Parvati suddenly looked at each other and then within a second their expressions changed and both of them ran inside together and seeing them all other were confused and they top ran behind them.Both Ranaji and Parvati reached outside Ananya’s bedroom and Ranaji knocked at the door but it opened automatically and what Ranaji and Parvati were actually afraid of,was lying unfolded straight in front of them.Ananya was lying in front of them in the floor,with her white night dress and hands covered with blood and her face too was covered with blood.Everyone looked horrified and Shefali and Natasha covered their faces with fear and just then Akash’s eyes fall on the wall in which it was written,with blood –

“Ye tum logo ki barbaadi ki shuruwaat hai,is mahal mein maut mandra rahi hai.Koi nehi bachega!!Hum kisiko bhi zinda nehi chorenge!!”
